Chamber: Business Gives Recognition at 2016 Business Summit
Strong Businesses Mean Strong Communities – “Fergus Falls Business Gives” Recognition March 16, 2016
Together, communities and businesses can partner to solve community problems and address community issues. The Chamber’s “Fergus Falls Business Gives” program enhances this mutual goal.Most business owners give back to their communities in countless ways but they are modest at best in promoting their community giving. “Fergus Falls Business Gives” is an excellent way for businesses to share their stories of community involvement, and receive public recognition for that commitment and be recognized with their peers. Chamber members will be recognized during the 2nd Annual Fergus Falls Business Summit luncheon at the Bigwood Event Center on Wednesday, March 16.
Minnesota Business Gives is a statewide program which more than 30 chambers of commerce have implemented programs which recognize local businesses that give at least two percent of their pre-tax earnings for charitable and community involvement activities. We recognize local businesses that give at least 2% of their pre-tax earnings for charitable and community involvement activities. These donations come in the form of cash, in-kind services/products and volunteer hours. The program is designed to motivate, educate and recognize local businesses for the important and significant contributions they make to their communities. Recognition is based on the percent of income given in cash and in-kind donations; a small business that gives $1,000 each year receives the same recognition as one that contributes $10,000. We encourage members of the community to continue to support all Chamber members as they generously give back to our community. We are proud to recognize and thank past recipients of “Fergus Falls Business Gives” and encourage members to participate each year.
Recognition will be presented after lunch and our local guest speakers, Erin Smith and Nick Leonard -- at approximately 12:55pm.
