Climate Change, the Challenge Facing Society - Brown Bag Lunch
Trever Seidel, an alumnus of M State in Fergus Falls, was recently part of the international research experience program at the University of North Dakota. He has been studying climate change: one of the most important challenges currently facing society.
Trevor’s research area is renewable energy. The program project's goal involves mitigating climate change while keeping two principles in mind: keep energy affordable and reliable for everyone and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Trevor will be coming to M State on October 27th to talk about the solar energy project in which he participated. The objective of this project is to fundamentally understand the interaction between ceramic scaffold and nanoparticles for enhancing direct solar absorption. These nanoparticles can absorb solar energy directly within the fluid or solid volume to circumvent the limitation of surface-controlled heat transfer mode, for efficient solar energy steam generation.
Bring your bag lunch and learn more about this challenge we all face.
