Concert Band Concert
Perham native Benjamin Kadow will join members of the Minnesota State Community and Technical College Concert Band for the band’s Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, in Waage Theatre on the Fergus Falls campus.
Master Sgt. Kadow, a trombonist with the U.S. Air Force Band, will perform “Flight of the Bumblebee” and “Moon River” with the band, directed by M State Director of Bands Dan Carlson.
After graduating from high school in Perham in 1996, Kadow earned a degree in music education from Concordia College in Moorhead and a master’s degree in trombone performance from Western Michigan University. He currently is stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska and performs with the Air Force Heartland of America Band but has played worldwide during his military career.
The Concert Band also will perform numbers including “Hounds of Spring” by Alfred Reed, “Emperata Overture” by Claude T. Smith, “Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre and “Hebrides Suite” by Clare Grunman.
Tickets are $9 in advance and $11 at the door for adults, and $7 in advance and $8 at the door for students. Tickets can be purchased at the M State box office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to the performance, by calling 218.736.1600 or online at mstatetickets.com.
