FLOCK TO THE MUSEUM NOVEMBER 19-21
Holiday preparations have you stressed out? Need time away from all the Thanksgiving promotions? The Otter Tail County Historical Society Museum can help with its Flock to the Museum event from Thursday, November 19 through Saturday, November 21.
Bring the family to enjoy free admission and extended exhibit gallery hours. There will also be free apple cider and a bake sale filled with all sorts of holiday cookies along with jam and jellies.
...Vernal Lind, local author of historical novels, "Beyond Those Hills" series and "When June Comes", will be signing books on Thursday, November 19, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. with a program at 3:00 p.m.
On Friday, November 20, 10 a.m., Liz Sweder will discuss her new book, "The Red Cottage: A Memoir". Liz recalls her family’s Swedish-style cottage on Jewett Lake. Her book celebrates the enduring values of family and place.
Right after Liz’s program at 11:30 a.m., museum staff will demonstrate the fine art of making sauerkraut. This will be the first and only public appearance of Museum Director Chris Schuelke in an apron. Samples are included.
Finally, on Saturday, November 21, at 1:00 p.m. the German Lefse girls featuring Sue Schroeder will be making lefse. No boxed potatoes for these ladies as they whip up some of the best lefse around. Free samples will be given.
Flock to the Museum is a great opportunity to visit the Otter Tail County Historical Museum while enjoying a variety of activities. For more information call 218-736-6038 or visit our website www.otchs.org.
