World War I Weaponry Focus of OTCHS Coffee Klatch
The Otter Tail County Historical Society’s Coffee Klatch series continues on Friday, February 24, 10 a.m. as Judge Mark Hanson discusses the evolution of weaponry during World War I.
World War I occurred at a technological crossroads. In some respects militaries still relied on 19th century tactics and firearms. By the war’s conclusion cavalry had been replaced by tanks and bi-planes were engaged in aerial combat. Using pieces from his extensive collection, Hanson will talk about the weapons soldiers carried and how they impacted the war.
