Public Health Nurse

Otter Tail County is accepting applications for a full-time Public Health Nurse to work in the area of Family Health.

Public Health Nursing is provided throughout Otter Tail County and is focused on individuals, families, and their communities.  It devises systems change to positively impact the health of all.  Public Health Nursing is population based, focusing on the entire population.  Public Health Nurses assess and analyze the broad determinants of health, and services are prevention focused.  Nurses collaborate, assess needs, and provide independent nursing interventions in the community which may include schools, homes, clinics, shelters, nursing homes, and other community settings.
 
Family Health nursing focuses on positive prenatal and child health outcomes.  This position provides health education, outreach and support to new families prenatally, with infants, or young children regarding healthy growth and development outcomes, as well as working alongside families to build protective factors and resiliency.  This position coordinates care and collaborates with community partners to ensure optimal health.

Public Health Nursing is offered throughout Otter Tail County. The Public Health Department has offices in both Fergus Falls and New York Mills.
